Karen holds Master’s degrees in Forensic Psychology and Child & Adolescent Psychology and has over 25 years of experience in psychometric testing and clinical practice. She is passionate about helping individuals navigate complex psychological challenges and is committed to providing evidence-based, compassionate and personalised care.
Before moving to the Hills District in 2011, Karen lectured in the Master of Forensic Psychology program at Western Sydney University, where she supervised postgraduate clinical placements and research projects. Karen has held a number of professional leadership roles, including Secretary for the NSW College of Forensic Psychologists and Production Editor for the International Journal of Forensic Psychology. She also served on the APS NSW Branch Executive Committee, contributing to professional development workshops and seminars for psychologists.
Her professional experience includes risk assessment and treatment of serious offenders in maximum-security correctional facilities, as well as co-facilitating domestic violence and anger management programs for Probation and Parole. Karen commenced private practice in 2006 and joined Castle Hill Medical Centre in 2013. She brings extensive academic and clinical expertise and values delivering best-practice psychological care tailored to each individual.
Her areas of expertise include panic attacks, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), social anxiety, health anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), trauma recovery, narcissistic abuse, coercive control, domestic violence, borderline personality disorder (BPD), ADHD, bipolar disorder, grief and loss, anger and conflict management, adolescent mental health, and building assertiveness and resilience.
