Workplace injuries need timely assessment, clear diagnosis and appropriate treatment. Castle Medical provides injury assessment and management within a general practice setting, offering an alternative to emergency departments for suitable injuries during clinic opening hours.
Our multidisciplinary team supports recovery from work-related injuries through medical assessment, nursing care, pain management, imaging where available, specialist referral and coordinated follow-up. Care is focused on safe recovery, continuity with your healthcare team and helping workers return to function safely.
Here’s what a typical workplace injury assessment and management pathway may involve.
Walk-in and emergency appointments may be available during opening hours. Where possible, call ahead with an estimated arrival time so the team can prepare.
Assessment may include wound care, pain management, functional review, nursing support and advice about whether imaging or further care is required.
Treatment may include injury management, dressings, laceration repair, fracture or sprain care, medication, certificates or referral to allied health or specialists.
Where needed, the team can coordinate specialist referral, physiotherapy, ongoing medical review and workplace injury management documentation.
Some injuries are more appropriate for an emergency department, including serious bleeding, major trauma, eye-threatening injury, reduced blood flow or sensation, serious head or neck injury, open fractures or injuries requiring urgent hospital care.
