Making Medicare Simpler
From 1 July 2026, Medicare is changing how patients authorise eligible bulk-billed services.
If your appointment is bulk-billed, you may be asked to confirm your Medicare authorisation before, during or after your appointment. This helps us process your Medicare claim on your behalf.

Patients may be able to complete their Medicare authorisation:

Using a paper form
if preferred
The new process is designed to make Medicare claiming easier, more flexible and mor secure.

Why am I receiving this request?
Medicare now requires patients to confirm their authorisation for eligible bulk-billed services. While this isn’t a new requirement, the way consent is collected is changing.
Do I need to complete it?
Yes. If you receive an authorisation request, please complete it as soon as possible so we can finalise your Medicare claim.
Can I still use a paper form?
Yes. Paper forms remain available for patients who prefer them.
Is it secure?
Yes. The new process has been introduced to improve privacy, security and transparency in Medicare claiming.
