Childhood
Vaccinations.

Protecting your child from serious illness with vaccinations aligned to the National Immunisation Program — administered by our experienced nursing team across all three Castle Medical clinics.

Why Childhood Vaccinations Matter.

Vaccinations are one of the most effective ways to protect your child against serious and potentially life-threatening diseases. They work by safely exposing your child’s immune system to a small, harmless part of a virus or bacteria, allowing their body to build protection before encountering the real illness.

What to Expect.

We know vaccinations can feel daunting, especially for new parents. Here's what a typical vaccination appointment looks like at Castle Medical:

Before the appointment

Bring your child's Personal Health Record (Blue Book) if you have one. No other preparation is needed.

During the appointment

Our nurse will check your child's vaccination history, administer the vaccine, and monitor for any immediate reactions. Most visits take around 15–20 minutes.

After the appointment

Mild side effects like a sore arm or low-grade fever are normal and usually resolve within 24–48 hours. We'll provide aftercare guidance before you leave.

Records & reminders

All vaccinations are recorded on the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR). We can also send reminders when your child's next dose is due.
