Regular health checks not only help identify underlying medical conditions but also guide you towards faster recovery and improved overall well-being. Women’s Health Services

At Castle Medical Schofields, we provide a range of specialised women’s health services to support your well-being at every stage of life. Our services include:

  • Contraceptives: It is important to discuss your contraception options with your GP to ensure that you are choosing the right method of contraception at different times in your life.
  • Breast Screening: Women aged 50 to 74 and those who are at average risk for breast cancer are recommended to get breast screening every two years.

If you are between the ages of 40 to 49, you should speak with your doctor about when to start and how often to get a mammogram screening based on your personal preferences, medical and family history and breast cancer risk.

  • Cervical Screening: Cervical screening test helps to detect infection with human papillomavirus (HPV), a common virus that causes most cervical cancers. It is recommended that women:
    • have a HPV test with partial genotyping every 5 years
    • start cervical screening at age 25
    • have an exit test between aged 70 and 74
    • have an HPV test at any age if they have symptoms of cervical cancer, even if they are screened regularly.

  • Antenatal Shared Care: Antenatal care supports pregnant women from conception to birth, aiming to detect and manage potential health issues for both mother and baby. Good antenatal care is important as it connects mothers with healthcare systems, ensuring skilled support during birth and promoting long-term health for both you and your child.

Your GP will usually be your first point of contact when you find out that you’re pregnant. They will help to coordinate your antenatal appointments, test and treatments, and guide you through each stage of your pregnancy as a trusted partner.

Dr Darshana Patil, Dr Kavya Chaganti and Dr Rupali Pandey are available for antenatal care appointments.

At Castle Medical Schofields, we are dedicated to delivering tailored, quality healthcare services for women’s health needs.
