Practice Nurse
About the role:
We are looking for vibrant nurses with experience in General Practice to join our friendly nursing team at our Castle Medical Marsden Park on a casual basis.
Who are you?
You will be efficient, hardworking, reliable, and committed to providing exceptional care to all patients and be able to start work ASAP. Some weekend availability is also a requirement on a rotating roster. A minimum of 12 months previous experience in a GP practice is preferred. Your hourly rate will be paid according to your relevant work experience.
You must be able to conduct the following autonomously along with the Doctors on duty:
- Adult & childhood immunisations – including catch-up vaccinations
- Administration of flu and COVID vaccines
- Cold chain management
- Practice software – “Best Practice” experience
- Wound care
- Assisting with minor procedures
- Emergency and acute care – Proficient in reading ECGs
- Pre-employment medicals
- Instrument sterilisation
- Plastering
And other general nursing duties which may include admin work.
You will need:
- Current registration with APHRA
- Previous GP nursing experience preferred
- Available to work some weekends when required
- Ability to work autonomously
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent multi-tasking skills
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to patient confidentiality
